5 things you may need to hear this Christmas

You are loved

You may need to know that no matter what is going on or not going on right now, you are loved. There are people who actually care so much about you, are praying for you, and are thinking about you. I tell you, you may not even know these intercessors. It may not seem that way right now but it’s important you know this and remember this. More than anything else, you need to remember that God loves you and is thinking about you. He loves us so much that He gave us Jesus.

Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV) says

‘The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.’

Isaiah 49:16 (KJV) says

‘Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.’

Don’t worry

This Christmas may not be as you expected or as you may have wanted it to be. Maybe you haven’t completed some things, maybe something has happened and your circumstances have changed. It could be that ‘Santa’ isn’t going to visit you – simply because there isn’t anyone in your life to actually meet that need just now or there isn’t the means.  Maybe you are worried about having a season that is not full of genuine fun and laughter.  The advertisements of happy families all dressed up in Christmas clothes, ideal couples on romantic getaways and images of sleigh loads of presents and goodies on the doorstep, though real for some are not a reality for many so don’t get hoodwinked.

Focus on what you do have, the gift of life which gives you the opportunity to have hope; focus on the people you do have and focus on giving and sharing what you can. Better days are ahead and by the grace of God there will be more special days to celebrate sooner than you know.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) says

‘In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you’.

It’s going to be okay

Whatever the circumstances are they won’t last forever. The only thing that I have found stands the test of time is the word of God. In many countries Christmas falls in the winter. It can be cold and dark and difficult to get around due to adverse weather conditions. You may feel you are in a cold and dark place just now but don’t forget, winter does not last forever. Summer will end up coming for sure. Dawn just has to break at some point, even the longest night ends! So remember this,

It’s going to be okay.

Genesis 8:22 (NKJV) says

‘While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.’

You are not alone

I went out to see some people recently. Some of them had no family and no close friends  around them that they could spend Christmas with. One lady was particularly upset and my heart went out to her but it emphasized the fact that as Christians we need to remember we are never , ever alone. Not only is Jesus our friend, He called us brethren. The Holy Spirit is with us all the time and The Lord speaks to us through His word.

John 14:16 (AMP) says

‘And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counsellor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—‘

Merry Christmas

Yes! From me to you. My prayer today is that you experience Gods peace that surpasses human understanding. Another year has come to an end and the New Year can commence with hope filling our hearts. Have a blessed, peaceful season. I pray God pleasantly surprises you as you put your trust in Him and may you

Be Encouraged
