It’s Taught Me These ….
Not only is patience a virtue but it is a rewarder. Things may seem like they are not moving fast enough or not moving at all but if God says we should be patient He has something in store. Patience is relaxing. The agitation, anxiety and frustration associated with impatience are not worth it. If we are doing what we are supposed to be doing while being patient then the proverbial fattest bone really does awaits us.
There are loads of things I wish I could change overnight. There are certain things that take time and while we put in the required effort we just have no choice than to wait for the results to manifest.
Hebrews 6:12 King James Version (KJV)
That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
People make mistakes and we forgive them. We make mistakes and God forgives us. Why then do people find it so hard to forgive and love themselves? If true repentance has happened then it really is time to move on to new levels. Get rid of regrets and beating yourself up for too long. You certainly can do nothing physically to change what has happened. You can change it mentally and you can erase things spiritually. Once you’ve done that then let it go and walk in the redemption you have so freely been given. Aim to not go back to any wrong doing; don’t let circumstances get the better of you. Love yourself and treat yourself well.
Mark 12:30-31King James Version (KJV)
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these
Some people say things get better with time and some people don’t think certain things can. I appreciate their thoughts, mainly because I haven’t experienced the type of pain or circumstance they mention. I’m not going to argue over semantics in terms of the word ‘better’. What I can say is this… Everything changes with time and nothing is impossible with God. Meanwhile, I look in the mirror and I certainly don’t see the woman I saw 5 years ago. It’s inevitable. And so hold on, hold tight, be strong and be hopeful.
Tenacity actually produces more strength. You really are stronger than you can imagine. Tap into this truth. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Philippians 4:13 King James Version (KJV)
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
No matter what the situation may be there are too many things to be grateful for. Being alive is one of them. I look around me at the things I have and I’m overwhelmed by God’s goodness and mercy. So overwhelmed that if I were to be honest with myself whatever I don’t have seems so insignificant. God relishes our gratitude. And He sure does deserve it.
Psalm 118King James Version (KJV)
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth forever
Psalm 22:3 King James Version (KJV)
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
